Vacation!!
To finance my photography project I work as a photographic retoucher, worked a lot this year and now, vacation time!!

love Christmas, love holidays, love to start a new year.
and thanks to Ikea for my christmas tree

Before starting a new year I always do a reflexion.
2009 was an important year in my presonal life: engagement, new apartment (the perfect one), losing two of my old cats (choosing to euthanized your cats is such a hard and painful decision) 2 new baby cats, working, loving Max, starting acupuncture treatment (miraculous).. Reading Twilight (I know!!! Edward is my second love, after my awesome fiance of course) , reading True Blood, always drinking too much coffee and finally I can say I recovered from depression.

Where is the photography in 2009? Nowhere! I can't believe I did not do any photoshoots this year. But I worked on photoshoots to come: research, collecting, finding, buying accessories.

So, here are the plan so far for 2010.

SNAP! 2009, silent auction- 4 of my photos are selected!

SNAP! is the AIDS Committee of Toronto’s annual photographic fundraiser featuring a live auction of curated art, a silent auction, and photo competition.

I've submited some of my photos to the SNAP! competition , they received 400 photos submission, they chose 120 and 4 of my photos are selected to be in the silent auction!

Its an amazing event and opportunity for me to show my work and help at the same time. I am really glad to be a part of it.

SNAP! est un comité de Toronto qui organise une levée de fond annuelle photographique pour le HIV qui comprend un encan silencieux, encan régulier et une compétition photographique, c'est un évènement unique qui donne de la visibilité aux photographes tout en amassant des fonds.

Cette année, 400 photos leur ont été soumises, 120 retenues pour l'encan silencieux, j'ai soumis quelques unes de mes photos et 4 ont été sélectionnées pour faire partie de l'encan silencieux.

C'est un évènement génial, une opportunité incroyable pour moi et une façon très agréable de pouvoir aider également.

I am really excited!!
The Lucie awards are the oscars of photography.
Its an international photo contest, and I won in 3rd place with my photo Dentelles 4, in th category: professional, fine art -collage.
And White Box, laundry day and velveteen received an honorable mentions!!

So next step, is the gala , the 6th annual lucie awards, october 20, at the lincoln center new york, and my photo will be publish with all the others winning photos, in a coffee table book.

je suis vraiment excitée, car j'ai gagnée en 3ieme place, avec ma photo dentelles 4, dans la catégorie, professionelle fine art collage, au concours internation International photography awards, Lucie Awards. Les lucie awards sont considérées comme les oscars de la photographie.

Mes photos de la serie White Box, Laundry day et velveteen ont toutes reçues des mentions honorables.

Ce concours en est a sa 6ieme année, plus de 22 000 photos ont été soumises de 124 pays. Ma prochaine étape sera la soirée de gala des 6th lucie awards, le 20 oct au lincoln center de New york.

6th Annual SQUARE FOOT Show

Je suis très heureuse de participer à cet évènement!
3 nouvelles photos 12 pox 12po pour ma série Idoll conçues spécialement pour le Squarefoot exhibition de la galerie Awol à Toronto. Le Squarefoot 2008 en est à sa 6ième édition, du 16 Août au 7 sept, cette exposition
de groupe réunit 700 artistes locaux et internationaux, tous fournissant 3 photos de
12x12. Un évènement à ne pas manquer!

"AWOL Gallery presents Square Foot 2008, a dynamic annual art exhibition, which showcases the work of hundreds of local and international artists. The Square Foot show has become one of the foremost community art events in Toronto. With each artist creating work in a 12x12 inch format, the show is hung in a grid forming an installation of overwhelming proportions. IDOLL-Photography project

Je suis vraiment excitée et fière de présenter mon nouveau projet photo IDOLL. Cette série crée à Montréal, est avant tout relié à l’enfance par une exploration du plaisir et du rituel de jouer à la poupée, avec les textures, les couleurs et les mises en scènes.
Ce projet me permet de mettre de coté les paramètres du quotidien pour exploiter pleinement ma fascination et mon amusement devant un petit cœur rose sur un soulier, des faux cils en plumes ou encore un ruban rose. Combinant photographies , telles que captées à la prise de vue , collage et autres techniques digitales, j’ai voulu créer un environnement fictif , des situations impliquant des modèles n’ayant aucune ou peu d’expériences de prise de vue professionnelles, de sorte que leurs réactions face aux costumes, maquillages et situations ont nourries les clichés de fraîcheur et de spontanéité vitales qui ne peut être simulées ou préméditées.

Chaque photographie est disponible en édition limité de 5 copies. 150$ chacune.

I am really proud and excited to present my new photo project : IDOLL
That series , created in montreal project is primarily an exploration of the childhood pleasure and ritual of playing with dolls, with textures, colours, and imagined settings. The project allows me to suspend the parameters of everyday life, to fully exploit a fascination with
playful details such as a pink heart on a shoe, fake feather eyelashes, or pink ribbons.
With a combination of real and digitally collaged elements, I create ficticious
environments and fantastical situations involving non-professional models. It is
important to the project that the models have no prior professional experience, as the
shots are fed by their spontaneous reactions to their environments, situations, and
costumes. The models provide a vital contribution to the freshness of the situations
which is a freshness that can neither be created, simulated, or planned.
